I need a 10P599 Actuating control valve lever for the power steering control and damper valve on my MM 5 Star. The picture and ID number is found on page of the Repair Catalog R-188A. My power steering works well to the left, but not to the right. When I took the control valve off today I found a great deal of wear on the part that makes contact with the steering gear shaft. If it is possible to find a new valve lever or even a good used one, is it also possible to find a 10A6304 gasket? I know I can have the part built up and machined, but I have never seen one in good condition and I don't have any specifications. I can also make a gasket. Any help is appreciated.

Isn't that the valve that says Ross on the bottom? I know Welters has the gasket as I got one for a jet2 about 3 months ago. 417-498-6496. They may have the actuating rod as well.

If you can't find one and have to fix yours, It has to be a snug fit in the slot of the collar on the steering shaft. Any play takes away from steering performance. It only has to move .040 thousandths.

I think to set it up you have to loosen the 4 allen mounting bolts and slide it forward or back until you find the position where you have equal steering assist in both directions.

There's a guy who posts on here pretty often: 'JK2' who knows a lot more about these than I do.
