The number 2 rod journal on my LP G-1000 is about 2.5 to 3 thousands out of round. The rest or the crankshaft rod bearings mike standard and are not out of round. Crank is still in tractor, but the mains look alright. The motor had two rusted cylinders when I aquired it and was locked down. Question, is the crank to much out of round to rebuild with out grinding. Repair book I have says 3 thousands is max out of round. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Wayne,
It depends on what you plan to do with the tractor. If you plan to earn a living with it then I'd consider having it ground. If you don't plan to work it too hard then a set of new bearings should work for you just fine.

If everything else is fine you could just have the 1 rod throw reground.
