5-star Distributor

I've owned a 5-star for four years. I've had to
replace the points every year even though the
tractor has very little use. I thought I'd save
myself future pain by ordering a Pertronix Kit
before winter and replace the points more permenatly. Anyway,there's no chance the pertronix kit will fit my
distributor. You can see pictures are http://www.jandwcomputers.com/5star. The pertronix kit is obviously for a screw on cap system and the cap I have is a snap on.


I was able to make out few numbers from the tag that was on the distributor. Its definitly a delco and its has 565 and 7F in the number but that is all I can make out. Too much paint and crude from previous owners.

Anyone out there have any idea what kinda of distributor I have or are the folks at pertronix
wrong about the distributor on the 5-star. I don't have any manuals for the tractor.

Thanks Everyone! I have ordered the correct Ignitor now and hope to have it before the weekend
so I can install it. If anyone out there needs an Pertronix 1145A kit, I'll have one those babies up on ebay soon since it is of no value to me.

The last pic is from the Pertronix kit, right? It looks like it would fit U302 and other tractors with a cap held on by 2 screws. The rest of the pictures look like the distribuitor you would find in a 5 star.
It looks like you have the wrong kit, or the wrong parts in the kit.

You probably need the same kit that fit the Allis Chalmers G, B, C, WD, Oliver super 55, etc. with the clip-on distribuitor cap.
