I know I may have asked before, but what is the center-to-center distance on a ZA rod? How much different is the R, ZT, Jet Star, or U302 rod length?

Strokes are different on R (4"), ZT (4 1/2"), & ZA/ZB (5"). Cranks & engine blocks are different, cylinder blocks & pistons are the same. At least I think this is correct.

dlp, Close. R models use a dome piston.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I THINK the R,ZT,ZA,ZB rods were all the same. I think they used different pistons.

I know we didnt answer your original question about length, but I wanted to add that Rs (EE engine) and ZTs (RE engine)use different rod bearings Than the 206 engines. The bearing is 1/16" longer.

Also, my interchange book said that a 445 (206) rod was the direct replacement for a ZB (206) rod, so I think all 206 rods are the same length.

Another thing I learned the hard way: R pistons will not work on L-Head 206s.

Also, I have a set of u302 pistons out of an lp. They have a shorter compression height than a Z piston, which seems to indicate to me that the u302 (220) uses a longer rod. I don't know why.

Kelvin, Do you mean the EE and RE rod beadings are bigger/longer in circumference or in width? If width, what impact would that have?

After talking to a friend, he informed me he though R and ZT were the same rod but different piston, however ZT and ZA had different rod numbers (same piston?).
