Does the tractor have a Tel-O-Flo 3 point? Is the filter in a canister on a bracket up under the seat?

Actually, I was going to give you the NAPA number 1828 if it went on a Tel-O-Flo. Sounds like yours has the wrong part number on the box as I think Wix makes (Or made) NAPA filters.

One thing: The last 2 times I changed these filters the NAPA o-ring didn't fit the canister. I had to stretch it almost to breaking to get it to fit the groove, and this involved removing the canister from the tractor. Probably that o-ring is intended for some other canister assembly.

Then I had to prime the pump inlet tube with a cupful or so of hydraulic oil because it would't pick up oil from the 3-point reservoir by itself.

Kelvin, thanks for the info.IThe reason I was hesitant about using the filter it was too long (I thought).I made a gasket and put it together.I had to squeeze the filter pretty hard but it went in with no leaks. keith

Bob, that one won't work either. The old element measures 7.5 long by 3" diam. The wix I got is about 1" too long. Keith

Keith,

The WIX # 51828 you got must have been mis-boxed.

According to the WIX Numerical Product Listing,

Filter # 51828....

7.779" tall

2.718" Diameter

1.062" Inside Diameter

I have a WIX # 51567 filter here, marked "MM Hydraulic", from the days we had a couple of MO's around, but I'm not sure what it fit that we had.

It is listed as 6.991" tall, and 4.530" in diameter. That would be shorter, and quit a bit bigger in diameter than the 51828 you've tried.

I wonder if that # would be a possibility for your application?
