Frost plugs out. Is this a common problem on say a Massey 97 or MM705? Are they difficult or expensive to replace. Is the engine in a 97 the same as a 705 or 706?
Thanks

Massey 97 and MM G705/6 use the same 504 diesel and LP engines. Depending on which frost plugs are out determines how difficult or expensive they are to replace. If the plugs are out between the cylinder blocks you'll have to disassemble the engine to replace them. If you're going to go through this much effort you should consider a top end rebuild while you've got it torn down unless the tractor is in good running condition and you don't plan to use it a lot. If the only plugs that are bad are visible ones then you can just replace them. If the plugs are weeping chances are they are rusted from the inside and there are probably more plugs needing replacing than just the ones already weeping.
