Does anyone have production numbers for the MTA and how many were wide, how many narrow. THANKS Tony

The MTA was made from 1934-1938. There were 3225 made in that time frame. All MTA were narrow front from the factory. The MTA replaced the MT which was built from 1930-1934. There were 420 made in that time frame. The KT/KTA were the wide front standard versions as compared to the row crop universal MT/MTA.

Thanks for the numbers. What I was refering to by wide and narrow is the rear wheel spacing. I have a MTA with the wide rear and am looking at one with a very narrow rear. Was wondering if anyone knew how many had the narrow rearend. The axle housing stops on the narrow one right where the housing steps down at the brake. THANKS Tony

The serial #s don't break out narrow versus wide rear end. I'd venture a guess that the narrow version is more rare as I've never seen one and I've seen quite a few wide MTA's.

I looked in my MTA parts manual R744D (printed 1948) and it only shows one axle length from differential to drop case and only one extension housing per side. I'm wondering if someone hasn't found a way to use KTA parts on an MTA. Just a thought as the parts book I have doesn't seem to support a narrow version MTA.

I think the KTA stuff bolts right up. A fella down this way had one put together to pull, and he had KTA axles on it to make it easier to haul. He sold it a year or two ago with the orignal long axles.
