we have one. it's got a 318 mopower.we have had problems with the clutch sticking after storing for the season. backing out of the shed after start up is fun.once around the yard and it starts to work again.also we learned that if you drive it down the road for more then 10 miles or so you will fry the main drive belt.dad has used the 4296 for at lest20 years and he is'nt about to give up on his old minny yet.on the up side our elevater said we have some of the cleanest corn and soybeans around.

Years ago we had a 3496. Had a 4 row wide (36") corn head. I wonder if Minny had a 6 row head for the 4296? Probably not- the 4 row was plenty for the 3496, couldn't go very fast. It also wasn't fun changing heads. Ours ran hot in hot weather (doing wheat) and nothing helped- seemed to need a bigger radiator.

Want a parts machine? Know where a complete one is. Hate to see it scrapped.

We had one for years and also a MM 5297. The 4296 was very reliable and simple. We only had a 6 cyl. It could have used a little more power for corn. We sold it after getting our first White 9700 Axel.
