I think with a little work, I can get my girlfriend to be a little more inthused about the tractor thing. She takes a shine to some of the MM. I wonder what one would be a good starter tractor for her. I hope she will try to pull one. I think my 335 would be a start. What would you think?

You might try a UB Special - don't know about your gal, but I found it to be a little easier to handle - you can see better because you are up higher and it has a foot clutch - now if I can just get it bought! However, my hubby and I also have a MM G - that I found and bought, but he allows he didn't want me to pull an "unproven" tractor, so I have pestered him to find ME something to pull in the bigger classes, I do pull a Case VAC in the lighter classes, but hubby pulls in the 6600, 7600 and 8600 classes, and I am hunting something to pull against him. For some reason, he just hasn't been all that gung-ho about fixin' up a big tractor for me - although we all ready have one to match his 8600# tractor, and it just needs a little work, but it hasn't moved since he brought it home. I guess I will just have to stick with driving the pull-back tractor during the bigger classes.....poor little ol' me. Good luck!

Dad has a UB puller and I have a Diesel. I might just have to put her up on one of them. I know her and I know it would go straight to her head. The VAC is a sweet little machine and I'm hoping my new model R can compete with one! Gotta love the G. Dad has one. I am working on one of my two GBD models today and just came in to take a break. Thanks for the reply and tell your hubby to let you pull the big ones!

Keep us posted! Some of our guys in the pulling club have volunteered to come help put our other LA case together so I can pull in the same class with him - they think it will be fun to watch the fireworks. We have pulling tractors of several colors, but I really like my little pocket rocket, but the MM's are just tough looking! Probably a good thing I am busy raising cows and kids, otherwise we would have more tractors than we do now - which to grand total comes up to 19 in all, but he still won't let me pull against him. If your gal can get interested in pulling and wants to go with you, that is great! The pulls are probably one of the best things we do as a family now. Our sled jockey got hurt, so hubby runs the sled, I run the pull back tractor and the kids petal pull - so all in all, it is a family event - we are also about the youngest people in our club so lots of the others get a kick out of our kids - 4 and 2 - it has been a good thing for us. Much more enjoyable than going to work cows as a family..... 'nuf said.

Mom decided we were having too much fun at shows-She wanted to get in on the fun, so she talked me into buying a stuck V painted Allis Chalmers orange. (Her money, just me talking)
So we get it running and that same year-before its even painted, while she's at another show a guy comes up and wants to sell a BG cause he wants a Ford. So she buys that one too. Well, we painted both and take them to shows and it seems like she always drives the BG.

Now she owns a Massey Pony (Cause it was 'cute' and I couldn't resist raising my hand when the auctioneer got down to $500.)

And her Uncle Henry's Oliver 55. (She's kinda outta love with the 55, she got to jerking the gear shift around-you know that crazy 2 range shift pattern on one stick that oliver was fond of-and jerked the shift lever out of the rails.)

Funny thing: Of her 4 tractors Three have new paint and the Oliver isn't too bad. And of my MMs, only about 1/4 have good paintjobs.

If you really want ther to play with a tractor pull up with a UDLX and you will have her hook line and sinker. But it will have you by the back pocket. LOL

STARTED ON MY 5 STAR AND MY LITTLE WOMAN SAT IN A CHAIR READ A BOOK, I WENT TO THE OTHER BARN TO GET A PART, AND WHEN I CAME BACK SHE ALL OVER IT AND WAS HAVING A TIME TRYING TO REMOVE THE OLD HEAD GASKET I WAS REPLACING, SO THE NEXT WEEKEND I SUPRISED HER WITH A 5 STAR OF HER OWN, AND SINCE THEN SHE HAS BECAME MORE PARTIAL TO MY OLIVER 60, I THINK BECAUSE OF ITS SIZE, AND HAS EVEN BOUGHT HERSLF A LITTLE Z, SO ITS HARD TO TELL, JUST DON'T LET HER BEAT YOU IN A PULL, THAT KIND OF STINGS AND GIVES HER A BIG HEAD

I LET HER STILL MY THUNDER AT A PULL, ANOTHER FELLOW PULLER WAS TALKING HIS JD G UP AND WE CHALLENGED EACH OTHER, I WAS LINING UP TO PULL UNAWARE THAT IT WAS A TIE BETWEEN SHE AND I AND I POWERED OUT AND WENT TO SPINNING, SHE PULLED ONLY A FOOT AND A HALF MORE AND WON, BOY HAVE I HEARD ABOUT THIS ONE, SEPT. 24 IS MY DAY, AND THE 5 STARS ARE AWESOME, I SAW A DIESEL FOR SALE ON THIS SIGHT.
