Valve Interchange

I have salvaged a couple good valves out of a 283 ci motor from a KTA, while my GTB with a 403 ci requires one valve to be changed. Are valves interchangeable?

I understand springs and valve guides are, what about the valves themselves?

If the head diameter is same
If stem length is same
If keepers fit the stem
It will interchange.
The only exception is if you want to use an intake as an exhaust. Most times an exhaust has different metallurgy because of the heat it endures. (I have used Z exhaust valves for intakes-They're the same size.) However, be aware that metallurgy was in constant change and the GTB probably had better steel in its valves. The other thing to consider is that fatigue and age may eventually cause the valve to break. I say this so you know there is some risk in using a 60 year old valve.

That said, if I was just going to show it, I'd use it.
