What size plow for M5?

I just bought a 1960 M5 gas and would like to know what size plow I can pull with it. Thanks for the help!

A good running M5 should be able to pull 4 16's in most soils.

We've got an M5 with a tired motor and no low side on the Ampli-Torque and it will pull our MM 4x16 in Missouri clay. Not fast but it gets the job done.

Tom, that would depend on the plow and the soil...could be a 3 bottom and you could probably handle a 4 bottom in most cases. I'm not sure but I think I'm right on this.what does everybody else think?

I have slightly sandy soil. I've heard this tractor can pull 4 16s.

Josh,my dad bought an M5 diesel new in '62 with a 5-16 semi mounted MM plow.It was second gear most all the time,but he used the M5 until we got a Super 670 diesel in 72.We have fairly light soil in our corner of Moody county South Dakota.When I started farming in 78 with a 2-135 White I pulled a White 7 bottom vari width,uasually at the 22" setting.4-16s probabbly wouldn't overwork your old girl.

Tom, I have a 3 point plow I believe was made for the M-5, 4 star, type of tractors, it is a 3 point,minneapolis milone plow, three bottom, and the frame is made out of round pipe with a round MM cap on the end, I had never seen one before or even heard of one till this one. I bought it out of a barn lot along with a ztu the original steel wheels for the ztu and a massey harris 44, does anyone know much about this plow?

i have that same plow but im in the process of restoring it but i am using a 3 bottom 16 inch international plows on my m5 and it pulls them fine.
