Ok, Guys this is a tough one. Do any of you know what the differences are between a G1000 Wheatland transmission and a M670 Super transmission? I am trying to put a 670 Trans in a Wheatland and I am wondering what it would take to make them fit. They appear to be the same, But the part number is different.

the G900/g950 and the 670 shared some tran components. they also shared the same components with the g1050 and g1350. the M670 by design has a heavy duty transmission, But different torque. Its easier to derate a tractor then to uprate one

Do you believe that the components from a G1000 Trans will fit into a M670 case?

I researched this once, but will need to get all my books together again. If I remember correctly the M670 top shaft is different for the torque but that most of the rest of the gears correlate to either the G900 and G1350 lines. MM did not make diffent transmissions for every tractor. The ring and pinion is the same on all 50 series tractors.

Why would you do that? the 1000 trans was not heavy enough and you are going to put a 670 in it? hope you don`t want to use it!!!!! !!!!! !!!!!

The reason I was asking is I suspect the 670 trans and the G1000 trans were both basically the same.

I would be surprised if they are the same. G1000 transmissions were upgraded several times during their production run. If you are going to all the work of replacing a transmission why wouldn't you put the strongest,up to date transmission you could find in your G1000? Or are you going to take out two pistons so you have the same power as a 670?

I actually was wanting to use all the G1000 components, but just the M670 case.
