Does anyone know if an 605 distributor will work in an HD800 engine. I need a distributor for my 800 but the only thing I can find is one in a 605 power unit. Any help would be great. Thanks.

It should work depending on which kind of distributor you are talking about also. If it is a Delco right angle type with the magneto style flange it should work fine. If it is the type that goes in hole on top of govenor housing with gear that drives off govenor shaft gear splines your 800 shaft will also have to have those to drive it. Not all 605s or 800s had the teeth cut in shaft to drive that type of distributor. Also a modified HEI dist. or Vertex magneto can be made to fit that style. Engines with a magneto will usually have a oil breather tube pressed into that hole also.
