I found a ub that has a homebuilt wide front end.This tractor ran a few yrs ago and motor is still freed up..Has hyd and rear tires are fair, missing front grill and is a little rough lookin..what would this be worth if it runs good,I dont want to be too cheap,I want to be fair to this person....thanx ..Steve

I would say 5-700, as is. If you could hear it running good- a little more. It is a gamble-be prepared to spend more money to fix it up. UBs are nice tractors, I have a '53 also.

unless i am missing something < $1000 and maybe < $500 if it needs rear tires and a lot of comsmetic work.

i just got a ub from my brother inlaw, his father bought it new , it is a nice tractor but needs painted , i havent tried to start it yet, anyone know what i should do before trying to start it . its been sitting for a lot of years, but the moter is free. i want to restore it to its original shape , ,and i am a beginner , please help

is it gas or diesel? clean the fuel system get ignition spark (gas) change oil etc and see what happens. you can compression test or air test the cylinders to look for problems.

thank you , and yes it is a gasoline tractor, i am putting new plugs , and having the gas tank boiled out , and a liner put in , and i am going to rebuild the carb, i think it will start easy, it seems to have good compresion , i am hoping to get it started . in the next few days , if it runs good , then comes the work, lol , sanding and paiting , i think it will be sharp when i get it done , thank you again mike

i would change oil and run it to evaluate the oil pressure when hot. Also check the trany/pto/clutch etc then if no internal work is needed, when you tear down to paint you can fix belts, gaskets, hoses, switches, charging system etc. check ebay and the minneapolis moline home page on line for parts/supply. might want to check brakes and the axel pto clutch if equiped.
no point in painting and then tearing apart all the time. good luck
