Quick Hitch dimension??

Have an old quick-hitch, real big unit, maybe Cat 3? or 2? Anyway, wish to use it on my JS3 which has a class 2 now. The catalogs all say 27-1/4" inside measurement on the quick hitch for cat 2. My blade wouldn't fit that. I would need 28" Min, and 28-1/2" seems better to fit it. It's a class 1 blade, I use the bushings with it. I have the old unit cut and ready to shorten some on both sides of center if I get right dimension. My neighbors Kubota has attachments and not One is same width. SO, what good is a quick-hitch if things aren't the same? I only have this blade now, and wish to make it fit for it. Can someone measure their cat 1 quick-hitch and tell me what it measures from inside edge of metal to other side same place? Clear as Mudd? Not center to center of pocket, but inside edge of metal. Also, does one need to have washers and pins in attachments when using, or does it need none? Seems the hitch or attach can't move in any way to make come out, right? I may need to change the lift pins to Cat 2 and no sleeves then or the sleeves will just slide off.
