Hi: I finally got the ZAU running. The fellow I bought it from said it runs and it does but a lot of oil runs out of the drain hole in the bottom of the tractor about just below the belt pulley and it looks like it comes from the rear main. Is there a solution to this without splitting and replacing the rear main seal and how difficult is it to replace the seal? Thanks in advance for any help. You guys are the best informed. Jerry

I just got done overhauling my zau top to bottom. You will have to split her apart to get to the seal.Or it could be one of the two gaskets around the crank bearing holder. But the seal itself is held in place by a sheetmetal flange that screws to the back of the engine.the seal just drives out and in like any other one piece rear main seal. Here is the current "Chicago Rawhide" seal #42426.This should put you on your way.Any questions fell free to e-mail me.
