Flyrod Boy do I know what you are talking about. I got a UBUD moline that is a diesel. Its rare, Mine is done, runs like a charm. It only took about 9 grand to get it there. I would sell it for 4500. I want to start another project.

I GET GREAT SATISFACTION IN USING MY 50 YEAR OLD TRACTOR TO PULL $50,000 HUMV'S ETC. OUT OF THE SAND. THE COST OF THE TOW'S ARE PAYING FOR MY RESTORATION.

I CAN HAVE MY CAKE AND EAT IT TO!

You were'nt doing this for an investment, were you? Most of us do it just for the satisfaction of seeing something that was junk working again.

I keep the receipts for most major parts of a restoration, but after I added the first one up, I never did that again. The price of satisfaction is pretty high.

Yep, I am sure that I have more in my '47 UTS than it would ever sell for...but then again, I sorta knew that going in.
I got mine for free as it was left sitting on a place I bought. The decision to restore it came from stubbornness and hating to see it go to the scrapyard. It turned out to have a cracked block, which upped the ante some, also I was paying my cousin to do the mechanical parts and he didn't always want to spend the time looking for bargain priced used parts. It does run well, has new tires, re-cored radiator, new gauges, grill, manifold, magneto, carb, etc. The sheet metal is all straight and it is ready for paint
I am in it about $4k and still have to paint it, which I will do the last week of June.
What the hell...it's only money. If the tractor is good-to-go for another 60 years i will consider it well spent.
