I have a 1959 5 Star that is pumping oil out of the vent located in the steering cylinder housing. This seems to be an atmospheric type vent and I do not know what controls the oil level in the front axle housing. Has anyone run acrossed this before? It is dumping oil out as fast as i can dump it in.

Our experience on this type problem would point to a steering cylinder problem, most likely the seals. There isn"t supposed to be execess fluids in that cavity. Dale

It maybe a couple of things different things wrongs. It could be that the control and damper valve is stuck or there is a return line pluged or pinched. I am betting on a control valve first. I have a parts book showing the break down on the valve and part numbers as well and can scan it for you if you would. My email is open so just drop me a line if you would like to.
