IS THERE ANYTHING BAD THAT I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THESE BEFORE I TRY A SET?

SPARK PLUG ADAPTORS THAT LET YOU USE A HIGH TECH 14MM PLUG IN A 7/8 OR 18MM PLUG THREAD.

WOULD BE NICE TO USE A LONG LASTING PLATINUM IN MY 403 G IF I CAN GET THE RIGHT HEAT RANGE PLUG?

I got a set of the REAM sparkplug adapters last year for my 47 U with the KEF engine. So far so good. If you go through more the 3 sets of spark plugs in the life of the tractor it should pay for the adapters. Last set I bought of the 7/8" plugs were more than $5 each.

I bought mine off the web, use yahoo and search for "REAM Sparkplug adapters". their main website has a great conversion chart that gives you all the data you need. Far more heat ranges to choose from, and most importantly, if you break a sparkplug, you don't have to wait 3 days for a replacement. That was the case with our Napa store..

Good luck. I am anxious to hear if anybody has anything negative to say about them, apart from that they do not look original.

I have a 47 UTS with the KEF engine as well. I have had it for 13 years but have never driven it as it is just having all of the mechanical work finished up after sitting in the meadow since the early 70"s. I plan to paint it the end of June. Good tip about the spark plug adapters. Any other little pearls of wisdom to pass on before I start using it? Is the hand clutch difficult to get the hang of. Do you work yours or pull with it or what? Is it particularly good or bad for any particular application?
