Avery or MM ??

I just acquired my first MM, The existing decals say (Minneapolis Moline BF), R5197 is stamped on the right side rail, and the tag on the right side of the engine has, IXB3SL, 3-1/4, 4X4, and 2455515 stamped on the tag. What is it, and how do I order parts for a restoration. ???
Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Randy

I believe that your BF is the more rare Minneapolis Moline model because if S/N starts R4460 ends R6537. Your no. is R5197 that would make yours the MM model. You have a good find. I too just purchased a MM BF.

If it has the seriel # stamped in the side rail its and Avery R not a MM BF,the BF's have a aluminum serial # plate on the outside of the right side rail.It should be painted red.

Randy I've got a BF also and parts are a little tricky to find out in my neck of the woods. Some stuff is available at a good parts store with a good parts guy. I found some seals at the parts stores . I needed a piston and some new valves which I got from Bill Williams. I don't have his number handy but someone might jump in here with it. Does the tractor run? Mine is still in the shop I have been working on another tractor.

Thanks Todd, The engine is stuck, #3 exhaust valve was open then the muffler rusted out. Otherwise it is in fair condition. The throttle rods are missing. But someday I will live to run again.

The book shows Avery/MM BF. 1952 is the only year of production. S/N starts R4460 ends R6537. Total produced 2078. Sometime during 1952 the color was changed from Avery red to MM prairie gold. What color is your tractor?

It is painted Prarie Gold with the decal BF on the end of the banner.
