I bought a MM drill at an auction. It"s in original condition, not repainted and looks fairly sharp. Bins look good and I"m going to give it a shot on 9 acres. Can anybody tell me the year of this off the numbers? It says its a Model PF3-7, and it also has 20025X and 13-7 PF3 on it. Any ideas on reprint manuals? Seems like I could get "er going but would like your guys input first. Thanks,

Oliver Guy, I put my manual on photo ads here #101906 if you are interested. I looked at my other manuals and they are for R and R6 series but nothing says PF3. My manual may be wrong one for you?

I have a parts repair catalog D-525H for MM P and R Regular and P Series Press Drills. It is 104 pages and orange cover shows drill with tall steel wheels but inside it shows the parts for 6.5-16 wheels for tires and chain drive conversion. It shows tractor and horse hitches. Tells nothing about a PF3 drill though so it may be too old for yours? It only tells about a P1 and R2 with 6,7,8,10,12 & 14" spacings and different openers. Have other manuals too for MM drills and will see if any are for the PF3.

Does the 13-7 stand for 13 openers, on a 7 inch spacing? The PF3 sounds familiar- I have two of them, circa 1955. Both ten foot, six inch spacing I think, low rubber, optional grass seeder, machanical lift- one converted to hydraulic. The inside of the lid should have seeding charts. Low and High range refers to the drive gears on each side of the drill- they interchange on their shafts to get low and high rates.

I have no idea what year it is-I'll guess 1940-50s. Newer if you got low rubber. You should be able to locate manuals on ebay-not much interest in grain drill manuals so you should get them reasonable. If it is all there and not damaged, it should be able to go to work for you in no time.
