Hey this is Mopower again. I was over on the Ferguson page and a fella asked the age of the other guys posting. I know some of you guys personally, but I thought it was a good question. When I showed up at Rockford, Ill at the MMC convention and met some of my e-mail buds for breakfast, they were shocked to find out I was 26. Some thought I was a grandpa. Anyway, it would be nice to know who and where everyone is here if you got a moment to say howdy.

Wow. I'm 36 and grew up with Red '59 340 Utility, '59 460 High Utility and '59 560. I now live in Kentucky but grew up in South Eastern Minnesota(Chatfield). My brother purchased my grandfather/great uncle's 1951 RTU tractor and trailered it 1100 miles one way. What a brother. At one time my great uncle had 11 MM's - 1 for every task and implements stayed on that tractor. This is great resource.

Mopower; Just ran across you all. Read all your follow ups, sounds like a great bunch of fella"s and wanted to join in. I have been messing with old tractors most of my 73 yr"s. Born in N.D. but have been in Texas for 50 some yr"s. I have two Moline"s at the moment, both 445"s plus tractors of other color"s. Great to see young people still interested something old.

I'll be 40 in July. Grew up driving a MM ZB and a Farmall Cub. Bought my own first MM in 1992. A UTS. Been nutty about them ever since. . . . Still live on the family farm (20 acres more or less) Dad still uses the old ZB for all his disking.

I look for, and sometimes, find implements. Really like these summer and winter shows, gets me to different parts of the US and get to meet the best people in the world. Thanks Mopower, John

I am 39, feel like 59 and act like I"m 29. Not sure what that would make me. I got into MM"s driving my dad"s first and only new tractor a 1950 ZAU, which we still have. I have been making MM reproduction parts for MM"s for the last 10 years. Some of you probably have bought some of them. I couldn"t find some of the specialty parts that detail or finish a restoration so I started making them. Keeps things interesting. I live in southern MN.

They were too ahead of their time it seems. 4Star=2 hyd. JD 2440=1 hyd. I"m down to my late landlord"s 4Star and am looking for a cheap GB lp to play with.

Mopower - I just became retirement eligible (55) from my position as an engineer for a defense contractor in upstate NY.

I'm primarily a Farmall enthusiast - grew up running Super H's and M's. Now own and have restored one of each. However a couple years ago I was offered a nice '47 UTU at a price too good to pass up. Learned only afterward did I discover this Minnie was the same tractor I enjoyed my first ever ride on at age 3 or so.

Punch below for a few pix...

I'm John Kinsey, 56 years old with very gray hair & have worked on MM's since I started working for a MM dealer (Everett & Sons) when I was 15. Grew up on a small farm near New Philadelphia, OH & live with my family on another farm in a nearby valley. We have 2 sons & a daughter. My 20 year old son is real interested in tractors etc but the others aren't. We farm our 125 acres with our MM's. We have pulled several of them over the years & still do some. We have some R's, a ZAU, UTU's (1 w/403), UTS, UB's w/403's, 335 universals & industrial, Big Mo 400M, 4 Star Super, 5 Star, Gvi w/504, JetStar3 Super, M670 Super, G1000 w/800, a green G1350 (Oliver 2155) and an old Uni Farmor that I used to use to shell corn and combine whatever needed run (replaced by a JD 105 about 25 years ago). I work on computers, networks & write software for a living but would rather work on tractors.

John Kinsey

I farm in western MN and am 49 with a 7 year old son who loves tractors. My first MM was a '51 ZA that I bought for $250 and drove home (1979). Since then I have found a few more. My main interest is R-Z-U's. I love my '53 UB. My newer molines are (2) U302s and an early 670. I'd like to get into impliments more but it is hard to find time for my "toys".

Hello MoPower its nice to see someone younger interested in the tractors no longr made. I'm not OLD in my eyes anyway, 52 and 7 grandkids but when I decided to get involved in old tractor iron instead of cars I chose MM because not everyone has one. I now have a GB and an M5 in the moline line and really like both then a B allis and a couple JD they are my normal horses. I am a hardwood flooring contractor.

Mopower,

I assumed you were older as well. Seems like you are knowlegable about tractors in a way that usually only the more "experienced" guys are. I have appreciated your advice and help locating parts.

I am 51, but am something of a newbie to tractors (I have been to exactly 2 tractor shows).

I am a diplomat and work for the US State Department. I am presently living and working in Ecuador (where most everybody that doesn't farm with an ox team has a Massey-Ferguson or New Holland tractor). I have been living overseas (Central and South America, Africa and Asia)for about 15 years.

I own a small ranch in Western Montana and will retire there in about 6 more years.

I have a '47 MM UTS with the KEF engine that was left on the property by the original owner. It sat out in the weather for about 30 years and is in the final throes of a restoration process. I will do the paint when I am back in the US in June. I also have a Ford 9N and 8N that I use mostly as workhorses, but plan to restore after I am retired and have some time. There is also an early 50's Dearborn-Wood Brothers combine sitting on the place that I think about restoring but will probably sell instead.

50 years and still act like a kid. Farm, mechanic, would sooner do antiques than go to the 8-5 job! Currently am deep into several brass era autos. Have a British bike or two in the works. Tractor pet projects include M-M UTSD-M, LAI-GM, F-30-N, DC-3 and lastly 1935 J-D "AW". The M-M will be the first to be put back to work. This is a nice forum to share information with each other.
