I have a ZTU, but the serial number tag is gone. The one on the engine is there and the number is 50557. Using the engine serial number can anyone tell me what year this is? This tractor also has electrics on it, and I am in need of a wiring diagram. Also what did a tractor like this have for a on/off switch originally, and where was it located? Any help would be great! Thanks.

KPL,
I can tell you its prior to 1940. My serial # list only goes back to 1940 and the RE engine started with serial # 52038 in 1940. There were over 7000 ZT tractors built prior to 1940 so I'm not sure what the starting serial # was for the RE engine in the ZT. I'd venture to guess yours is a 1939 model given they made over 1700 ZT tractors in 1939.

Brian
