Any one with experience with the external engine oil pump on the A4T 1600? Just rebuilt the engine from the bottom up. Started the engine and cannot hold constant oil pressure.

I need diagram of the pump and if there are rebuild kits.

White dealership has no information and Everett has not worked on an external pump.

I need to get this figured out and the tractor into the field.

Just got a chance to respond. It is snowing, 33 degrees and a wind chill of 17 degrees. 80% of corn and beans in the ground. I am glad mine is still in the shop!!

Tractor has been in the field until Fri. with our rain and snow in Ohio.

I corrected the variable oil pressure. The relief value was shot. A new one was available for $30. Pressure is at 60 lbs. and steady. Agco does have the parts list on the a4T, but I had to research it all over the country. There are 31 pages of specs for the pumps used. But, the pump itself is obsolete.

I completely rebuilt the 585 from the crank up. She is running very well and a lot of hp, with 150 acres of tillage ,n the new engine and new rubber.

You have a oil pickup air leak. Probably you will have to remove pan and check plug that replaces old pump. Make sure it covers main oil galley and o rings are good.

I agree with the above. There is allso a relief valve built into the pump.It passes oil from the preasure side to the sucktion side.If this sticks open the pump WILL NOT prime its self and you will have no oil preasure. It happened so often we had to install a check valve to keep oil in the pump. The pump and valve run in unfiltered oil so it worth checking out the valve.
