I"ve recently purchased a GB Diesel with Serial # 09000002. I have been told that this was the second GB Diesel built and that it was built in 1955. Can anyone confirm this info and maybe tell me about what this tractor is worth? Any input will be greatly appreciated?

Yes, your GB was the 2nd serial number issued to GBD in 1955.
From 1955 to 1959 there were 2790 GBD's built. I would say the value depends more on the condition, location, etc than the serial number. Serial number one might have collector value to some collectors. Also low production numbers add some value, but value is more dependent on condition of engine, transmission/differential, the tin, tires, paint, and location. The below quotes are just my opinion.
A basket case GBD, stuck engine could be worth $200-450. Poor condition, but running $600-1100.
Average condition, original, running $800-2000.
Good condition, rebuilt engine, good tires $1500-3000.
Completely restored, professional repaint. rebuilt, new tires, excellent. $3500-6000.
PS. a full tank of diesel can add $100.
