I have located a MM tractor and the model number is hard to read but the serial number is 16900706. I have looked here and can"t find the model anywhere with that serial number. can anyone help?

That's the diesel engine serial number for an M-5
tractor.

the tractor I am looking at has a propane engine, where is the tractor tag located and about what is it worth with at stuck engine, and one rear tire (18-26) bad. what is scrap worth and what does it weigh? As you can tell I know very little about MM's. The lady said to make her an offer, hence the questions.

LP yes for sure my bad. I was on the wrong line "169" starts the engine serial numbers 336-4 engines for M5 gas and LP gas and the year is 1961.

The tag for the tractor will be on the transmission housing by the brake pedals on the right side. That tells the true story on the tractor. I am not sure what scrap is paying where you live but here in central Illinois it is 80.00 per ton of clean #1 metal. The weight with no added weights or fluid in the tires will vary a little an lp with type U front axle "narrow front weights 6400 pounds and at new factory list price of $4847.00 and a standard lp gas "wide front" weighs in at 6600 pounds and factory list price of $4696.00 These are facts and figures straight from my MM dealer book dated January 20 1960 Offer her maybe a 1000.00 for it because to me it would be worth it and go from there. That would be better than scrap and seeing how I like to see a picture of it to get a real good price idea. Really that question is something I don't like to answer because it is so open ended. It really is what you are willing to give and she is willing to take for it. A UDLX maybe worth 100,000.00 but if no one is willing to pay that much and I do mean no one well then there you go. I only say this as an example only! My email is open if you would like to chat more about it.

Kevin,

If no one is willing to pay that 100G for the UDLX then in my estimation it's NOT "worth" it. It must be "worth" something less - let the market decide. And I am using that as an example, also. On items like that anymore I prefer to use the term "valued at". It's like a big percent of that stuff on "Antiques Roadshow", it sure isn't "worth" those prices to me.
