Narrow front parts for 335

I would like a narrow front on my 335 (dovetail type). Was the dovetail for a 445 or 4-star different? Will that bolt in the front end in place of the casting, shaft, and plate that runs the tie rods? I know I can on a Jet Star, but the 335 front end looks smaller. My parts book only shows the utility 335 parts unfortunately. Can anyone help me out? Anyone have a 335 row crop tractor to look at? I know they are rare.

The narrow front for a JetStar3 is 2" shorter than the ones for all the rest. I just measured both a month or so ago for a friend who wants to put a narrow front on his JetStar3 diesel.

The 335 Utility does not have a dovetail. The frontend casting is also diferent in that there is no top roller bearing or place for it.

The dovetail on the 335 Universal is the same as the other tractors.

Rich,
You can simply cut the 445 one off at the bottom, remove the desired amount and weld it back together. They are cast steel so they will take the beating they get. You can weld them.

How was the rowcrop narrow front 335 built? Was there a place for a roller bearing in them? If want to switch to a narrow front, I have to go with a different front casting?

Mopower I was looking at a 335 universal a week or so ago(the one that has the 5856 heads)at first I thought it was a utility but checked the serial number and it checked out as a universal,pretty sad shape,Has a wide front and appears to be the same front end as my 445 but without the two side by side I don"t know 100%.It had the dovetail mount just like my 445,Where the narrow fronts the same from 335 to 445? Iput a narrow on mine and the front is higher than I would like for pulling curious if the 335 front was shorter in height,Probably have to make my own narrow front to drop the frontend,later Rich

Well it is good to know it does have the dovetail. I didn't know if that and the bolted block that held it was interchangeable. I will have to measure the bolt pattern. I believe the narrow fronts were the same because they both came with 38" tires. The only short narrow front was the Jet Star 3 narrow front. Because of the small 28" rears, a short front pedestal was used. I would thing a docetail could be reproduced to go in fabricated front ends. Hmmm...ideas ideas.

Do you happen to know the height difference between the 445/335 narrow frt and the jetstar 3 narrow frt? Rich

Narrow fronts are the same from the 335 upto the G1000 Vista EXCEPT for the Jet Star 3 which is a little bit shorter. Hope this helps.
