M-M 35 high low problems

The high low on this 35 will not go into low range. High works fine and neutral but it will not engage low. Is there an adjustment I can make or am I down to splitting it to get at it?

Some never had the High/low torque lever.

I assume you are talking about a 335 MM. If so, there is not a neutral. When the lever is forward, a clutch pack is engaged and for the high side. When the lever is rearward, the clutch pack is dis-engaged and a one way roller or sprag clutch engages for low range (like an over-running clutch). If low range is not working at all, the springs that push the rollers up the ramps are likely destroyed. There also could be two other problems:
1. The snout that the rollers run on may be damaged (rough). 2. The ramps that the rollers run up to engage low range could have dimples in them. Many times, you can polish the ramps with a hand stone and install new rollers and springs & they will work ok again.

Keep in mind that the tractor should NOT be operated in low range until the oil in the transmission and rear end is warm or the torque may be damaged.

We have a M-M 335 and can not determine *how* to get it into low range. We are assuming that whatever control was used for this has been removed.

Any pictures or descriptions of where we should be looking would be appreciated!
