I really need some help with this one.

I have an old GB propane model that is trying my patience.

When I parked it in the shed this past fall, it was running perfectly.

I had some field work to do this week and planned to use the GB but it refused to start.

I finally pull started it and found that I had to keep the choke on full or it wouldn't run.
I kept it running for several hours, but if I pushed the choke in, it would die. Also, I found that is I set the tractor throttle at idle, it would run with the choke pushed in, but would surge badly. It I gave it any throttle, it died, unless I choked it again.

The tank is full, and seems to be functioning correctly.

The lines are not pluggeg, not is there a leak.
I replaced the filter, tested the diaphram in the regulator and it is good.

Does anyone have any suggestions!

I cut my teeth on MM propanes & own 8 of them at present. Sounds to me like your choke cable is slipping in the set screw. Propane has no half choke. When fully closed, engine will only idle no matter how far the throtle is pulled. When you open the choke you have to do it fast or engine will die. I suspect that your choke is only opening half way, therefor killing the engine.
