I am new to MM tractors so please tolerate these rather obvious questions. I have some experience with green and red equipment and 0 with MM. I would like to try a different color and was thinking the R would be a neat tractor to try. What unique problems do you look for when buying an R? Am I going to have a hard time finding new and used parts. Are the parts expensive when compared to JD parts? What do the other letters stand for? Like T=tricycle? S= Standard? E,U?

I got an RTU that i would sell, its a little ruff but the engine is in reall good shape and runs, and could have it with new tires on it also. i believe we would sell it fairly cheap, just to get it out of the way. i dont have any pictures of it, and im located in east central illinois. give me an email if you would like

The R makes a nice first MM tractor. Stay away from a stuck engine if you can as the cylinders are getting tough to find and more expensive everyday. Gaskets, rings, bearings, valves, seals are readily available. Oversize pistons are somewhat hard to comeby as I don't think anyone is making the dome type R pistons in oversizes. The "T" stands for tractor. The U is tricycle narrow front, N is single front wheel, S is standard non-adjustable wide front, E is extendable wide front and I is industrial.
