Brake shoe size

I own a 53 ZAS. When it was purchased it had no brakes. The previous owner gave me 4 brake shoes and said that they were the right ones. I had the shoes relined and the drums turned but no matter what I did I couldn't get the drums back on. Are there 2 different sizes of brake shoes or does anybody have a solution so that I can have brakes? I appreciate any and all responses.

Yep, sounds like linnings are too thick, I had the same problem, just machined the drum a hair more so they would work..... .....

I would take the shoes off, try them in the drums, off the tractor, if they fit, maybe the linning is too thick, if they don't, they are the wrong ones. You may have already tried this, just a thought.
