Is belt pulley and drive the same as M5, M602 or 670? What percentage of Molines came with belt pulley? Most around here have belt pulleys whether it be a R,Z,U.

Thanks

My brother bought a belt pulley assembly for his 1967 Jet Star 3 at a farm auction where the farmer had two brown Jet Stars. The farmer had removed the pulley assembly from one of his tractors years before. I think he paid $40 for it some years ago. After 1960, very few farmers ordered a belt pulley for their new tractor.

I don't know if production numbers exist for MMs equipped with belt pulleys, but in my collection (about 20, including the parts tractors) only 3 of the pre-1955 tractors do not have the belt pulley drive shaft in the transmission. Only 5 had a belt pulley mounted, however.

The manuals reccommended removing the belt pulley when it was not used.

I'm thinking the belt pulley fell out of favor during the late 40's-early 50's. The PTO was a much better drive for a lot of tasks.

The part numbers from a 602 are different than a Jet Star 3 belt pulley. None of the numbers I looked at are even close.
