MM Corn Picker Questions

I just bought a single row MM corn picker. It is a model SH Huskor.

The serial number is 114003.
How old is this machine?

I only have a few acres in corn, dryland in central Nebraska, so the low capacity of this machine is not a problem.

The Huskor is complete, but has been sitting out for a long time and will need a good bunch of cleaning and replacement of wood and rubber parts. Also it will need a good oiling and greasing.

I need to know how good these pickers are when field ready?

If they are not that reliable or don't do a good job, then I would be wasting my time working it over.

I also have a New Idea 6A two row, but it needs a little more work. If it is the better picker, then I will work it over instead.

How good are the Moline pickers and how do they stack up against the old 6A New Idea machines?

Thanks!

Jim,

If that new idea is any thing like the one I
used back in the 50's , I lost count of the grease
fittings somewhere about 125 .

Thought you were in Ks.
