R Moline Crankshaft Removal?

my brother is trying to remove the crankshaft from an R and he cannot figure out how it slides out, the part where the hand crank looks like the problem, how does this come apart? also does the rear main bearing cap have to come apart too, it looks like it rides in the end part of the crankcase. this is the first time he has worked on one of these. any help would be great.

DON'T put a puller on the crank jaw until you take the setscrew out! It can be seen through the slot in the dust cover on the seal, at the bottom.

I don't think you will have to remove the rear main carrier from the crank until its out of the crankcase, but you might want to, it will make things a lot lighter. slide it back about 4-6" where you can get to the bearing cap bolts. Remove the cap, and the rear mail bearing insert (The half left in the carrier).

This should allow enough play to get the rear main carrier off the crank if you line up right on the dowel pins in the rear of the crank.
