ZAU STEERING SHAFT GROOVE PIN REMOVAL

I am trying to remove the steering shafts from my 1950 ZAU and cannot figure out how to remove the "groove pins" (page 83 of the parts book) that connects the shafts to the universal joint on the left side of the tractor? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks to all who gave me some pointers on this issue. I had no problem removing the pins. As I continue in this restoration field, I continue to be amazed at how much help HEAT can be to loosen things up. I heated things up and the pins popped right out! Thanks again!

Go to a hardware store and buy you a roll pin when you get ready to go back with it.

OK, the next question is:

If you take these pins out, does AGCO make a replacement for them?

If you don't booger the old one up too bad taking it out you should be able to re-use it.

I drilled mine out Took all of 20 min.

If I remember correctly they are tapered pins, at least they were on our ZA. They need to be drove out one direction.

Yep. A wooden block to support the shaft and a pair of thick leather gloves help too.
