seperating water and hydraulic oil

i have the chance to get some used hydraulic oil that i would use in an old loader of mine, but the oil has alot of water in it. does anyone have a "trick" to seperating these two componants or do i walk away from the oil?

If it got water in it while in a container, you can let it sit in a container with a bottom drain, and drain the water off the bottom until oil comes out. If it was in a machine and was run with the water in it, it will be emulsified into the oil and will not completly separate without a special filtering machine. You can go to a large oil supply warehouse, and buy hydrolic oil for less than $20 for 5 gallon bucket in my area. Do not buy tractor hydrolic oil for an older loader, as it is more expensive and not needed. get plain old EP-46 or AW-46, depending on brand.

The two will seperate on its own if left to set awhile in a drum or five gallon can or what ever it is in. Me personally whould just walk away and leave it even if it was for an old loader. I would just go to the local store and buy the no name oil for it and use that.
