Can someone with a G parts book scan the tire and rim option page and e-mail me? Need to know if 15.5 38's were a factory tire size. Thanks

Other option was 18-26 (now 23.1-26?) but agree not 38's and 15.5 way too small a cross section.

G-MOLINE was never equipped with 38" casting.
They came from the factory (early-models) with 14-34" rubber, later gb's 15-34's
38" casting will bolt on in place of the 34's
Why would you want to drop down to 15.5-38's?
The 14-34 is much closer or replaced by a 16.9-34

hope this helps

The local pulling club has a max tire width of 15.5 tires, so can't use the 16.9 34's. Thanks for the information.

The g-moline is a very good pulling piece of equipment. If you half to run 15.5-38's, does that mean you can run pressed steel? If that being the case you could drop bunch of weight,(BETTER ASK THAT QUESTION FIRST). 15.5-38 TIRE WOULD BE ALOT EASIER TO FIND AS WELL.
I OWN A G-MOLINE, PULLED IT TWICE AND IT BALANCES VERY WELL. A LITTLE TUNE UP AND IT WILL MAKE A DYNAMITE PULLER.
IF they give you that tire size run with it.'
I have some other opinions, would mind chatting on e-mail.
That tractor is just an awesome piece of equipment
have fun

OK - if I understand you need to use the 15.5 max and maybe that means you have to go up to 38" to get load capacity. But the answer is no to OE 38's and to 15.5 on Moline G or GTA ot GTB or GB - rim sizes were never more than 34" even with duals as far as I can tell and 15.5 was a newer size designation very late 50's or early 60's - as I recall it came into being as a shorter wider tire than the 14.9's sort of like the low profile car tire replaced the earlier tires in the 60's. And the 14.9's did not replace the 13's till after 1955 - maybe later. Looks like your club rules are kind of self contradictory if they require OE tire AND max at 15.5 section. Could you run old size designation 15-34 if you found such without the newer 18.4-34 designation - its the same tire except for nomenclature? - Maybe what they really mean is no big old tractors. If you really have a G or early GT or GTA, you probably had 14-30 which were replaced by 16.9-30, GTB and GB were 14-34 (16.9-34), 15-34 (18.4-34) or 18-26 (23.1-26?). These were big tires for heavy tractors. You can still get dimensions (overall dia, load capacity, etc) from Goodyear or Firestone or Goodrich web sites. You might want to check there to make sure you have what you want. Best. Ed
