UNI-MATIC HYDRAULIC LIFT FOR BF NOT WORKING!!!

JUST OVRERALL LIFT JACK WAS WORKING BEFORE, CHANGE THE TWO PUMP LINES ALSO AND ONE LINE FROM RESERVOIR TO THE LIFT, CAN'T GET IT TO WORK. CHANGE ONE CHECK VALVES, THE NEW WAS WHITE, THE OLD ONE WAS BLACK DOES THIS CAUSE A PROBLEM!!! TOOK LINES OFF AT THE PUMP AND SHOWED GOOD PRESSURE AND GETTING PRESSURE FROM RESERVOIR TO THE LIFT. TROUBLESOME,,, ANY IDEAS!!!! 1953 BF MOLINE.

When you said "TOOK LINES OFF AT THE PUMP AND SHOWED GOOD PRESSURE", were you looking at a gauge? Or were you seeing flow?

I can't remember if the pump hoses on a BF are same size or not. There's no chance they are crossed between the reservoir and the pump, is there?

Also, What was the original problem with the cylinder? Why did you replace the check valve? (I'm assuming you are talking about the check valves in the cylinder.) And are you sure you got the springs back in place?

I check then pressure between res and lift was weak, clean the filter in the reservoir, check the control valves in res, didn't change problem, the hoses has one small end and big end i ck in shop manuel on placement of hoses top of pump to bottom of res etc. as far of diameter of inside of i don't know because the old ones was left at the parts store. I do not have a pressure gauge, i looked at flow , the cylinder was leaking at the front seal, i am looking to overall the pump.to reason because the new orings are tighter and the pump must have more pressure to operate the cly jack than before overall! this is a eaton pump, call around to see about parts for it. might need to replace control valves in the res. and they are called relief springs.

claude, if the problem you started with was a leaky cylinder, any problem you have now is probably still in the cylinder.

the hump on the side of the cylnder has check valves in it. One for 'out' and one for 'in' It sounds like the check valves are not working properly.

Did you leave any springs out when you reassembled the cylinder?

NO, I took apart the pump, replace the bearing, seal, could not find replacement rotor gears, which have not much wear, torn apart the jack cly. again, ck every thing added hyd fluid in one side of cly. still not operable. trying to find control valves in the reservoir, to replace.

I need to know if the two hose's that run from the res to the pump is the same in diameter or one's smaller than the other, like the international tractors have.. because the hose's were made new at aparts store. which might have been over look!
