Just tore down a 445 I bought not running. This is my first experience with a MM "small block". The engine tag says it is 206H-4 but it has 3 3/4 bore which should make it a 220.#2 rod was bent in a U, camshaft, crankcase,& front block broken. Is anyone else running these bored & what is the longivity??? Thanks for any help, Jim

Sounds like you guys ought to come to my house and, for a small fee, relieve me of a pallet of 445 parts, including crankcase, etc. I bought a 445 from a fellow who put a power unit engine in it. I have the pallet containing all the original 445 engine parts.

Hey! I have a matching ZA crankcase and block with hole and all!. But it was an LP tractor, run on gas with too small a (zenith) carburetor and with bearings WAY WAY too loose.

I'm just saying that what you're seeing may be the result of either abuse (didn't check the oil) or ignoring a noise in the engine.

I also have a gasoline 220 in another jetstar3. As far as I know they have about as good a longevity as other molines. They were rated to be turned a bit faster, though, which might shorten their life some.

One guy on here did mention a few weeks ago that a malfunctioning governor can cause that kind of result, too.
