Folks
I found a (supposedly)runable RTU parked in a field. The widow that owns it says it ran in the last year or so..also has the trailer sickle mower bought new with it. It is in poor condition, tires shot, and little paint left but does turn over. Not much compression though. Seems a very basic tractor with no extras, not familiar with the R, my only M-M is a 706. What is a fair price? Otherwise the junk man gets it by spring.

I"d probably offer her around $200-300 for it, thats more the scrap price and with a little work I"ll bet it will be a running tractor. If you get it I"d fill the cylinders with tranny fluid for a week or so. Also if you don"t want it if its close to me in Missouri I"ll buy it. I already have one RTU beut it looks very good and runs great.

Well find out what the price of junk is right now. Which by the way the last time I checked is high 65.00 per ton I think even more and offer her to double that price. That's more than fair because as you said it will be going this spring to the junk man. Having said that any price over junk price is fair too. If it was close to me in Illinois I would pay that for it.
