I have a ZA, but don't know the year. The decal along the motor says Minneapolis Moline in plain black block letters. There is no MM decal on the gas tank. Can anyone help?

This tractor has never been repainted. Along the engine cowling it says MINNEAPOLIS-MOLINE in black letters. There is a Z logo in its normal place, nothing on gas tank. I saw a picture on this site of one that was similar, a 49 ZA, but it wasn't identical.

If it says Minneapolis-Moline in plain black letters, your ZA has probably been repainted. That sounds like the logo from the late 60's.

I think the '49s used a white/with yellow letters? decal and the '50-'52 used the red/yellow/black Minneapolis-Moline decal. Most guys use the red/black/yellow decal, its easier to come by. and no MM on the tank.

You will need a ser# to be exact but my memory says the ZA was built 1949 thru 1952.

ser.# tag is riveted to rt.side of trans. case [not the tag on engine]. if tag is missing it won't be so easy to tell year. made 1949 to 1953.
