I have a 445 that continous looses hydralic oil . It does not leak on the out side of the tractor. So I figure it is going some where, probably in the trans. Is there a seal that needs to be replaced? Where do I start? How difficult of a job?

Thanks for any help

Joe,
There are 2 possibilities if it has power steering. It could either be the seal in the front side of the hydraulic pump or one of the seals on the power steering cylinder in the front casting.

You can remove the fill plug in the front casting on the right side to check the oil there to see if it is over full or is hydraulic fluid instead of 90 weight oil.

If it is the hydraulic pump seal, drain the hydraulic system then remove the pump. The seal should be replacable from the front side of the pump.

The hyd fluid goes from the pump to the 3 point thru the rearend casting, could be one of the seals there leaking. That would put the hyd oil in the rearend/trans.
