I sent brother-n-law to retrieve #. Tag on right side says Model G Serial # 04701044. Is this a special edition or not? What is the year model and how many were there. Do you know how much this tractor weighs and what was the hp rating. Lastly what is it worth?

That would be a 1953 GTC the serial# numbers run that year 04700677 to 0471101. That tractor is close to the end as you can see and that was it for the GTC model line. GTC was built only three years with of course a total units built of 1100 and they ran from 1951 to 1953. It will weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 6700 to 6800 pounds with no added extra weight. 65 hp is also close give or take a couple. Price is what ever you are willing to give for it.

Thanks! We have determined that the tractor we are looking at is a 1953 GTC - 1044 of 1100. It starts, runs and is in pretty good shape - could use a paint job, but seems to be pretty straight and solid other than that. The tires are black and round - in need of replacement soon. What price range would be considered appropriate for this tractor? Thanks for your help!

I was willing to give between 1200.00 to 1500.00 for my GTB but it didn't run and the tires where bad and found one way cheaper and bought it. I am really hard pressed for pricing tractors for anybody but if you are going to put new tires on it that's going to set you back 800.00 or so, and you can get good used ones too of course cheaper. You may want to figure that into your price range. Lastly the first and last run of a tractor model line always seems to help on collectablity of the tractor pricing as well. I think some call it paid bragging rights. Good Luck with her!

Great! Thanks a bunch for your help. This gave me the info I needed to make a decision. My wife really wants this tractor to pull in the local antique club. I have a set of tires that will work just fine, so that cost isn't part of the decision. Wife seems to think this tractor will be tough competition in the local pulls. She has a 1946 Case VAC that does pretty well and wants to compete in bigger classes. Your info. is appreciated. Thanks!
