I have a MM LP tractor. It runs good, but still looks a little rough. I think that it is a 5 Star.
On the engine tag the numbers are:
Model 283 E-4, Serial # 10901220
I have a 5 Star R-1188A Repair Catalog or parts manual that came with the tractor.
The book has the name: Daniel Implement Co., Hwy 720, Frisco, Texas 75034 written on the inside of a cover. The date on the LP tank is 1957.
One question is: What year model is the tractor?
Is it a 5 Star?
Another question is: Where can I find a Radiator Hose, 10A9584(2"x2 3/8") and Radiator to Pump Hose, 10A3028 (2 1/8"x 2 1/2"),and Air Cleaner Hose 10A9734(2 1/2"x 2 5/8")? These hoses seem to be different sizes on each end and not a standard size on both ends. The other hoses are a standard size.
Another question is: What is the correct generator belt size or cross over number for the MM Part Number of 10A9733.
At some point I plan to restore the tractor, and another question is: Is there a wiring harness still around or will I have to build one for it?

Charles,
Your engine serial # is an early 1958. Serial # 10901090 was the last 283E-4 engine made in 1957 so yours is 130 after that. Kevin knows his 5 Stars so he should be able to help you out with any questions.

Charles on the transmission there is another serial plate by the brakes pedals post that number here too. That is the one that tells the story on the year for sure. I am going to say though right now that it is a late 1957 or early 58 by the serial number you posted on the engine. As far as the hoses go you can get them at any AGCO dealer and if you don't have one close I could sell you a set of my new ones I keep on hand for the 3 five stars I own. The wiring harness at this time will have to be done by you. The belt number for the generator is Dayco #15330GL and Goodyear #13331 I left my email open if you would like more info on these tractors.
