help i have a 57 model 335 i have been restoring for some time it was in really bad shape completly tore it down from front to rear its all back together started it last nite runs great have all the gears aplitorqe ok and pto ok but no power stearing and no hydralics and pump gets hot what valve did i get backwards???

Did you refill the hydraulic reservoir? Take the plate with the rate and cycle levers on it off, fill to about 1-1/4" from the top. Use Dextron 3. It should be a gravity feed to the pump.

yes its full of fluid it has pressure when i loosen the line that goes to the power stering it spews everywhere im thinking its not getting returned from the stering unit also it slowly turns to the right buy itself when started any ideas ???? thanks wayne

Wayne,
It sounds as if you could have installed the priority valve for the power steering incorrectly or it may just be stuck. It is located at the right front of the hydraulic pump and is horizontal. The narrow part of the piston goes in first, followed by the spring then the plug.

thers a good chance there crossed i put them one way and it turns left the other way it turns right im starting to think i have the power stering really messed up i know im getting presure to it but i dont think its returning to the lift ??? i took the valve body back off the lift and rechecked it last nite pretty shure its right i did have the ps unit apart cleaned it and put new o rings in it thought i put it back like i found it ????

ok i take the priority valave out and the lift and remotes work but no power stering put the valve back in no lift and stering goes to the left buy its self the valve is clean and not sticking any ideas ?????

ok i found the problem like a dummie i had the adjustment on the power steering damper valve off as far as possible really dont understand it but it works now thanks to all for trying to help
