Will a drive axel from a 335 Minniapolis Moline fit a 335 Industrial Min. Moline??? I real need to know becouse I found a couple of axel"s from a 335,and mine is a 335 Industrial.Help?????

Does the 335 utility axel come off by taken a casle nut off from inside the tractor housing,and then just slide's out?That's how the Industrial 335 axel came out.MY right drive axel has I think 10 or 12 lug bolt's,and the one that broke had only 6 or 8 bolt's holding it on.Im begining to think the previus owner has been in their befor.

Heath,

The 335 Utility axle has a nut on the inside end. After removing it, the only thing that will keep it from coming out is the seal at the outer end of the axle. There is a snap ring that sits between the bull gear and the inner bearing. It will likely fall down when you remove the axle so you must put it back in place when reassembling it. The snap ring doesn't go in a groove, it is used as a spacer between the inner bearing and the bullgear. Keep in mind that the nut on the inner end of the axle adjusts the pre-load on the tapered roller bearings supporting the axle.

Will I notice the snap ring drop if I wasn't paying attention when I pulled it apart.But other then the snap ring that im not sure if it was their but probaly was, that's the way mine came apart.I will check inside the housing tomarow for the snap ring.It goes behind the bullgear right.All I did was pull the cassle nut,and seal,and slide the axel out.I didn't take any gear's out or move them.

It has been several years since I've had one out but if I remember correctly it isn't much fun getting the axle back through the snap ring and bull gear while the bull gear is still in the tractor. It is possible though as I have done it several times. Yes the snap ring goes behind the bull gear. It is possible that the snap ring is still between the bull gear and the bearing & held there by the oil (not very likely). If the snap ring isn't there, the bull gear sits too close to the case or something on the bull pinion, I can't remember which.

I thank you for your exsperiance.I will know tomarow.I just hope the snap ring is their period couse this has been apart by previus owner,and I know he played with the axel,but ive owned it now for 5 year's,and alway's in use so I would know if it wasn't installed the last time he played with the axel.Would the machine still move,and drive up the highway with out it?ive had to drive it down the road a couple of time's.The axel seal alway's leaked on the broken side to,could that be why the seal leaked??

My 335 Industrial has one Industrial axle and one Utility axle. The Industrial axle has twice as many bolts to hold the wheel on as the Utility but it works OK. I guess you could drill and tap the other holes but I don't use mine all the time & check the bolts occasionally.
