I am in the process of restoring a 1945 "R". It had a generator cutout on it, however it would not start, no power to the coil circuit. The wiring diagram that I have only shows two wires to the generator, one to the battery terminal on the cutout and the other to the field terminal on the generator.

I then installed a new 6 volt positive ground voltage regulator on the generator, the tractor starts and runs with no problem, however it does not charge at all. Whenever I short across the the "B" and "F" terminals the generator charges to what appears to be a maximum charge.

Any suggests are apperciateed.

Thanks

Roger
