Has anyone done away with the live PTO assembly on the left side to lose the weight? If so, how? I was thinking of taking the whole assembly out and welding the two shafts together. Any comments or suggesetions are welcome

I just took the springs and outer plessure plate out and drilled threw the disks and but bolts in so they can't slip alot easier than finding shafts and changing brakes assemblies. and only cost about 2.00 dollars.

I took the Live power unit off of my UBN. There where UBs made without the live power. You just need to get the brake assembly from one with out the live power on the LHS. I believe the LHS and RHS brake assembly is the same except for the outer housing. The two part shaft will need to be replaced with the one piece shaft. It was not a difficult job.
