I have a ZAU that has X 205 on the serial plate. the engine plate also has an X on the serial plate. the tractor is in nice condition but the engine is stuck. what does anyone out there think it is worth? I have around 50 tractors and have promised my wife to drastically reduce that number.

Is this tractor have a newer overhead valve engine like a 445? Are you in Michigan? I know there was one kicking around a salvage yard near me years ago. If your in the midwest, I"d like to see what you have. I have two ZAU right now.

it appears to be a standard Z engine but it may run at a different rpm or have a different bore or stroke. as far as I know, this tractor has always been in minnesota

Yes, that could be. Maybe one of the first of the new style. Did it have a red grill or the newer yellow heavy grill?

it has the newer style of grill.When I get back to the farm I'll check the generator to see if it is 6 or 12 volt. that could shed some light on the vintage.
