I have been trying to find the u joints for my bf every parts store can't find anything. Mainly because the ujoint don't a part number. Does any one have the parts number? I know Bill Williams will the ujoint it would just be easier to get the little things here. Thanks Todd

I just recently replaced the driveshaft u-joint crosses in my BF. I was able to have them matched at NAPA to the correct size. I'll try to find the part number for you so you can order a set. The new crosses use a needle type bearing in them. Be careful taking the old ones apart as you might damage the yokes. You should support the cross with a couple of blocks and press the cups out the top using a socket to press with. This way you won't risk bending the yokes. Finding new yokes is near impossible as they used a 1-3/16 shaft size which is really oddball. Hope this helps. Zack

Ok, I found my receipt and the correct replacement cross and cups is NAPA part number 2500870. The guys at my local NAPA here in Oregon know me and always do a great job of looking up tractor parts. If you need anything else let me know. Zack

Zack Hey thanks a million I'll try the local Napa tommorrow and see if they can get them. Would you by some chance have the oil seal part number for the trany I have found the oil seals for the pto and the belt pully but the seal on the transmission doesn't have a number. Thanks again I really appreciate the help. Todd

Todd, sorry I don't have a number for the seal. My best advice would be to pull out the old seal and take it to NAPA or to a bearing/seal dealer where it could be matched. You'd be surprised what they can find. Zack

I'm thinking those U-joints in the drive shaft-that's the only BF U joint I can think of- have hardened cups and crosses and no needles in them.

If you have one out, I'd take it to NAPA and get them to check their U-joint catalog. About 8 years ago we replaced the U-joints in out MO sickle mower, there was only one joint like that in the book.

P.S. If they're what I think they are, they have straight flutes on the outside of the cups and really fit tight in the yokes.

Heys guys I went through the same problem with the yoke & cups on my Bf last summer!! Found neddle pins & cups to fit the old yokes, but after
3 sets of U-joints and having my tractor down for two weeks I found a place in Lexington, Ky that had Yokes & U-joints that matched my drive-shaft.
I paid just under $100.00 for 2 yokes & joints.
The place is Spare Parts & Equiptment in Lexington
Ky. Sorry I'm in Florida today with "Frances" and
will be here for two more weeks. The phone # is in
the Lexington phone directory. I will try to get it tonight when I call home and get back.

KELVIN I have tried our local parts stores with no luck even the big ones in the bigger towns. T he u joints are the no needle type and these stores have never even seen one like this same as the tractor implement. I thought maybe someone might have the parts number handy. Maybey I'll give Bill Williams a call I know he has the ujoints and I also need an oil seal for the trany and a few other things. Thanks.

Hey-If you have a lot of clatter or chatter in the driveline, I would suggest you also check the bearings on the transmission input shaft and maybe in the clutch housing, too.

I've never been inside a BF transmission, but on a V, the input shaft is on ball bearings and they look kinda puny when a Farmall cub of similar hp and size uses roller bearings on that shaft.
